Start Using AlternaPOS
from setup to sales

Follow practical steps to install the app, create your store account, set up products, run transactions, print receipts, and read business reports from Android.

1. Downloading and Installing AlternaPOS

AlternaPOS is available on the Play Store and can be used immediately after installation.

  1. Open the Play Store app on your Android device.
  2. Type "AlternaPOS" in the search bar.
  3. Select AlternaPOS from the search results.
  4. Press the Install button.
  5. Wait for the installation to complete.
  6. Once done, open the AlternaPOS app.

2. First Screen and Onboarding

When you first open the app, you will see an onboarding screen with a brief introduction to AlternaPOS features and benefits.

Press the Continue button or follow the onboarding flow until you reach the login page.

3. Login and Create Account

A. Login with Google

  1. Press the Login with Google button.
  2. Select the Google account you want to use.
  3. Wait for the login process.
  4. If successful, you will enter the main page.

B. Create Account Manually

  1. Select the Register menu.
  2. Enter your name, email, and password.
  3. Press the register button.
  4. After the account is created, you can log in to the app.

C. Login for Returning Users

Enter your registered email and password, then press the login button.

If you forgot your password, use the Reset Password feature to reset it via email.

4. Understanding the AlternaPOS Main Page

After logging in, you will enter the main page with 4 main menus:

Home — business summary, charts, reports, and stock.
Products — manage product catalog and menu.
Transactions — income, expense history, and reports.
Settings — manage account, store, payments, language, and more.

5. Business Summary

The Home page displays real-time financial and transaction conditions:

Net balance
Total income and expenses
Total transactions and products sold
Average transaction
Net margin percentage
Average daily income and expenses

This section helps business owners quickly understand business conditions without manual calculations.

6. Profit/Loss Report

AlternaPOS provides profit/loss reports to track business earnings:

Total income
COGS (Cost of Goods Sold)
Gross profit
Total expenses or costs
Net profit and profit margin

This report helps you see whether the business is profitable, at a loss, or needs evaluation.

7. Income and Expense Charts

View income and expense charts for specific periods. You can set the period: Today, This Week, This Month, or a custom date range.

With charts, you can visually track business growth and understand sales trends.

8. Top Selling Products

The Top Selling page displays the best-selling products:

Product name and quantity sold
Single products and variants
Best-selling product ranking

This feature helps you identify the most popular products to manage stock and sales strategy.

9. Product Menu Overview

The Product menu is used to manage all products sold:

Search products and scan barcodes
Add, edit, archive, and export products
Self-Order Website link and barcode
Export PDF and Excel
Pin favorite products
Sort low stock and expired products
Grid or list view
Product audit history

10. Searching and Adding Products

Search products: Type the product name in the search field.

Scan barcode: Press the scan icon, point the camera at the product barcode.

Adding products:

  1. Go to the Products menu, press the add button.
  2. Fill in: product name, price, stock, category, photo, barcode, variant, and description.
  3. Save the product.

11. Managing Display, Filters, and Archive

Display: Grid View or List View.

Filter: By category, favorites, low stock, expired, or archived.

Archive: Hide products without deleting — can be restored anytime.

12. Self-Order Website

AlternaPOS provides a Self-Order Website link and barcode. Share with customers so they can view products and order themselves.

Great for cafes, restaurants, food tenants, shops, and SMEs that want to receive orders more efficiently.

Sales transaction process

13. Activating Order Mode

To start a transaction:

  1. Go to the Products page, make sure Order mode is active.
  2. Select the products to order — they will be added to the order list.
  3. After selecting, press the Order button at the bottom right.

14. Order Page

Complete transaction data before payment:

Cashier and customer name
Order notes
Amount and payment date
List of purchased products
Payment method

15. Choosing Payment Method

AlternaPOS uses manual payment:

Manual Payment — cash, transfer, static QRIS, e-wallet, EDC.
Payment Proof — customers upload proof, cashier confirms.

16. Manual Payment

  1. Select manual payment method.
  2. The app displays payment info (account number, QRIS, etc).
  3. Customer makes the payment.
  4. Cashier checks if payment has been received.
  5. If received, the cashier can upload payment proof.
  6. Proof is saved in the transaction history.

For manual payments, make sure the payment has truly been received before completing the transaction.

17. Verifying Manual Payment

  1. After the customer picks a manual method, the app shows the payment info (account number, static QRIS, etc).
  2. The customer pays then uploads proof via the website, or shows the proof to the cashier.
  3. The cashier checks the payment proof.
  4. If it matches, complete the transaction.

Make sure the payment has truly been received before completing the transaction. If something is off, adjust it in the Transactions page.

18. Receipt Page

After successful payment, the receipt page shows the transaction proof:

Complete digital receipt
Share receipt to WhatsApp, social media, or other apps
Share as text or image
Print receipt via Bluetooth thermal printer
Upload transaction proof
Done button to complete the transaction

19. Sharing and Printing Receipts

Share: Send to customer's WhatsApp, share as text, image, or to other apps.

Print:

  1. Make sure the thermal printer is on and connected via Bluetooth, then choose 58mm or 80mm paper size in Settings.
  2. Press the Print Receipt button.
  3. Wait for the receipt to print.

After finishing, press Done to return to the Products page and continue the next transaction.

20. Transactions Page

All transactions are recorded on this page:

Income, expenses, and all transactions
Transaction details and payment proof
Search by transaction ID or name
Add manual expenses
Transaction audit history
Sort newest/oldest and filter by date, category, cashier
Export transactions to PDF and Excel
Profit summary by date

21. Summary and Expenses

Transaction summary: Total transactions, income, expenses, and profit by period.

Add expenses: Record electricity costs, salaries, raw materials, rent, transportation, and other operational costs.

  1. Go to the Transactions page.
  2. Select add expense.
  3. Fill in expense data.
  4. Save — it will be included in the financial report.

23. Admin Dashboard

The Admin Dashboard can be accessed via alternapos.my.id to monitor business from a laptop/computer.

View business summary
Monitor transactions and stock
Manage reports
Monitor cashier activity

The Admin Dashboard barcode in the app can be used to connect accounts or grant dashboard access.

24. Offline and Online Mode

AlternaPOS supports offline transactions. If the internet is unstable, transactions can still be recorded. Once the internet is back, data syncs automatically.

This feature helps stores continue serving customers even when the network is down.

25. Import Data via Excel

Import data using Excel files to avoid manual input one by one. Data that can be imported: products, income transactions, and expense transactions.

The app provides an Excel template so data is more easily read by the AlternaPOS system.

26. Language and Currency

5 languages: Indonesian, English, Japanese, Mandarin, Korean.

16 currencies: Automatic format based on locale — symbols, thousands separators, and decimals are set correctly.

27. Logout and Delete Account

You can log out if you don't want to use the app on that device.

Before deleting your account, make sure you understand that certain data may also be deleted and cannot be restored.
